Samantha Hartley

Account Coordinator

Samantha joins the Thornley Fallis team as a recent graduate of the Algonquin College Public Relations program. An energetic self-starter committed to growth, she brings hard work and persistence to her position as account coordinator for the Ottawa office.

In addition to her education, Samantha contributes valuable people, project, and event management skills from her tenure in the banking, hospitality, human resources, and sports fields.

Before joining Thornley Fallis, Samantha studied business and communications and took a special interest in marketing, writing, social media and public engagement. Samantha’s post-secondary education was characterized by early success; consistently achieving honours while contributing to student government where she assisted in the fulfillment of policies, procedures, and standards across the college.

Samantha has published articles in local newspapers, managed a cause-related marketing campaign for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, re-designed websites and print materials, planned and developed communications proposals and marketing strategies, planned and executed on-campus events, created and maintained an online presence through social media for multiple organizations, and provided media training and image building advice to multiple clients, both on and off campus.

Samantha is enthusiastic and eager to lend a helping hand in her community. As a long-time donor for the Humane Society and a proud supporter of many local non-profits, she believes that small gifts are valuable.

In the summer of 2008, Samantha volunteered for MATCH International, a non-profit organization that works to improve gender equality and sustainable development nationally and internationally. During this time, Samantha participated in a partnership with the Canadian International Development Agency to improve the efforts of gaining awareness and supporting women and children in Bolivia. This volunteer opportunity allowed her to build valuable relationships, learn about issues and implications about the advancement of education and gender inequality, and provide strategic advice to inter-office employees and community volunteers.

Samantha is continuing her French language studies and is always looking for ways to develop her communication abilities while networking within her community.
