Jo Langham, ABC

Jo is a senior communications practitioner with extensive experience in consulting and public relations agency environments and an award-winning reputation for planning and leading innovative, high-impact strategic communications campaigns that consistently meet evaluation metrics and maximize client-value. She is a trusted strategic advisor to senior management including providing counsel on communications for business issues and crises. As a member of agency leadership teams Jo has been responsible for writing mission and vision statements and annual business plans.

Jo provides senior client counsel in consumer marketing communications including media relations, event management, promotions, social media and digital marketing, product launches, crisis communications and issues management. Her expertise extends over a wide variety of industries, most recently focused on health & wellness, food & beverage, financial, travel & leisure, energy and beauty.

At Thornley Fallis, Jo oversees communications programs for Pfizer Canada, Ford Canada, Royal Bank of Canada and Allstate Insurance. She manages the Toronto office and is responsible for team and client relationship management. Her many years working with a diverse range of internal and external clients have honed her skills in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality of service under fast-paced conditions.

Prior to arriving at Thornley Fallis, Jo worked at APEX Public Relations where she managed programs for numerous international brands and not-for-profit organizations including GlaxoSmithKline (AVAMYS), International Schizophrenia Foundation (Orthomolecular Health), Kellogg’s Canada, Breastlight, BMO Bank of Montreal (Personal & Commercial), Toronto Hydro and Yoplait Canada. Jo has also worked with numerous other internationally recognized brands including Coca-Cola, CIBC VISA, Polaroid Canada, Canadian Kawasaki, Bombardier Sea-Doo and Unilever.

An award-winning communicator, Jo has received recognition from IABC and CPRS at the local, national and international levels 18 times in the last four years. Jo is a past president of IABC/Toronto and was a member of the board for nine years. She is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC), currently sits on the IABC Accreditation Council as Director of Examiners. She is regularly called upon to judge international awards programs.

Jo also sits on the Board as Secretary of the Central Eglinton Children’s Centre and as a member of the Finance Committee. She holds a BSc. in Earth Sciences from the Open University in England and if she wasn’t practicing PR she’d be a storm chaser, oceanographer or volcanologist! Jo is a keen photographer and reader and loves travel.
