Alexandra Milroy has been a driving force for change, growth and development since her arrival at Thornley Fallis in 1995. Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer, Alex was Chief Financial Officer, guiding the company from its inception to its leading market position today. With over 25 years of experience in management and consulting she knows that a company must be run and managed well in order for its consultants to provide top quality work to clients. During her tenure at Thornley Fallis, Alex has held directorships with a variety of corporate, not-for-profit and political organizations.
Alex held a variety of senior financial and management positions in consulting and public accounting companies prior to joining Thornley Fallis. In addition to corporate roles and responsibilities, her deep experience includes the management of large contracts for a variety of government and private sector clients, with specialization in audit, procurement, feasibility studies and internal systems. Past projects include the development of a financial control and reporting system for the election activities of one of Canada’s major political parties; the monitoring of proper procurement activities on behalf of a crown corporation; the financial management of a multi-million dollar international procurement project; and the audit of grant systems within a government department.
Alex Milroy manages the smooth internal operations of all the administrative and financial systems at both Thornley Fallis and 76design. Her goals are twofold: to provide necessary information reports to consultants, staff and management and ensure timely and accurate contract status reports and billing information for clients. A passion for accuracy and a reputation for dependability are the hallmarks of her work.
Alex shares her time and energy with a variety of organizations, and has been appointed to the board of a number of not-for-profit organizations involved in health-care, federal politics and social issues. This work has included appointments to various Board committees, such as audit, finance, fund-raising, operational review, change management, and quality assurance, and she has held various executive positions.
She holds an Honours Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa.
